Project Planning and Project Controls
Project Planning - In 1992 Roche Products Ltd first of 3 Planning Engineering trainee’s successfully completed training and development with Alba Planning. Training included planning methodology, PMW software training, progress reporting and critical path analysis. A further 2 engineering staff were trained successfully between 1992 and 1994. All trainees went on to provide a planning service to engineering and process departments.
Project Planning - In 1999 UKAEA’s first trainee Planning Engineer successfully completed the Alba Planning Consultants training and development course at Dounreay. Training included planning methodology, Primavera P3 training, progress reporting. Critical path analysis and earned value analysis.
Project Planning - In 2003 RWE Nuchem contracted Alba to develop the planning methodology and Primavera P3 software skills of their planning staff. This work was successfully completed at Dounreay.
Project Controls - In 2009 DSRL contracted Alba to review the current project controls process and resource skills. The review is currently on going in parallel with the production of a training and development strategy for existing resources. Training will include learning both the practical side of planning and cost control as well as the further development in the use of Primavera P6 software. A key part of developing project controls is also to review each part of the project controls process and identify and establish best practice.
Project Controls - In 2010 GLL Ltd instructed APC to produce a project controls training package to be used to develop the skills of existing project management and engineering staff. Training included the use of planning software, the use of CPA and SPI’s and SPI’s.
